January always feels like a long month, and this year more so than usual. With a mid-month thaw followed by a polar vortex, the weather certainly kept things unpredictable.
The good news? We still had 15 days where the rink facilities were open, and the last 10 days of the month delivered some incredible ice conditions. There’s still time to enjoy the rink, and weekday mornings are a great time to skate a few laps.
Looking ahead to February, we’re very excited for our Frosty Fun Night on Friday, February 6, starting at 6:00 p.m. This year’s event will be held in the evening, bring the whole family for a festive winter night! In conjunction with the Town of Shediac’s Winter Carnival, you’ll have the opportunity to skate with Bonhomme Couèche, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy music and entertainment for all ages.
Don’t forget our regular activities at the center:
Zumba Classes: Two sessions each week, Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Jess and Kierra will lead Monday nights, while Jocelyne takes over on Tuesdays.

Shediac Acoustic Jammers: Jam sessions every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in or just enjoy the music.
Shediac Playgroup: Every Monday morning at 10:00 a.m., promoting family well-being by offering bilingual programs, services, and resources for children and families from pre-birth to age 6.
Ice Rink: The ice rink will be open when the weather allows. Check out our Facebook page for status updates.
